Default Broken A-pillars.....Anyone else? How does this happen?

Anybody have this problem with their A-pillars?

This is the drivers side A-pillar right on the top where it curves over the windshield and mates up to the piece that runs the length of the vehicle.

This is the passengers side, not as busted up--But cracked......

I just bought this rig on Saturday and today was my first day to really get out and wash it up and check it out. Would this be a warranty, or do you think maybe a windshield installer broke it when it was owned before me?? I maen, how does this happen? Her is a pic of the rest of it. Does it look like a BB exhaust?? I tried to figure out which kind it is, and it looks closest to a BB.

Thanks in advance for your replies.....

Never seen that before but probably some type of impact damage. If that is the case they would not warrant it. I haven't seen that yet.

Common issue, believe it or not. https://www.hummerforums.com/m_83990/tm.htm

I had mine replaced on the driver's side, under warranty, on the most recent trip to the dealer.

Thanks....I am taking it to the dealer tomorrow for replacement of the hood insert....6 of the 10 clips were broken and the previous owner hot glued/double sided taped the thing back on. I will have them set up a time to fix the roof rail as well.

yup...it was a common problem with the older 06's...dealer should fix it even if it's out of warrenty.

Does your exhaust have a big can muffler right behind the bumper or does it have a canister muffler up by the driveshaft? That will help us tell you what kind of system it is.

It's a big can muffler right behind the bumper.

Our 06 had that problem on both sides, makes a terrible racket going down the highway. But yes, like the rest said. It is a warranty issue, they just replaced both of them and said that almost all of their 06's had that problem.

I like the chrome bumper, looks sharp. Judging by the Vette in the garage you like a bit of bling. BTW, I don't think any of us said welcome yet, so . . . Welcome to the forums! [/align]

It may be a warranty issue but you may have a hard time convincing them of that due to the impact marks you have around that area and the fact you didnt buy it new. Sorry, good luck...
