Brake problem
Yesterday in slow traffic coming up a stop light I put the brake on and it fought me. Felt like ABS times 20. I pumped and it was normal, hasn't happened again. Has this happened to anyone else or does anyone know what causes such a malfunction?
Hello All:
I had a similar problem in my 07' H3 when it sits for awhile in the driveway or work parking lot. The problem i have noticed is as I start to drive, the first time i hit the brakes nothing happens until my foot almost hits the floor, then the brakes engage quickly and the hummer stops and throws myself and everythign else in the car forward. I thought perhaps my 6 month old hummer was low on brake fluid and there was a leak in a line. The dealership checked it over and said there was no problem. "It has all disc brakes and that is the nature of the beast", said the service guy.
I have never had a problem like this with any other disc brakes -- has anyone else encountered anything like this?

I've had it in twice for the problem. There is a GM Technical Service Bulliten on the issue somewhere. Apparently the braking system they use in the H3 is some newer system that uses hydraulics rather then a cable and in the cold weather the fluid contracts causing there to be more play, or at least this is what I've been told. According to GM, it's normal and there isn't a problem.
What I do is make it a habit on pumping the breaks at least once before I pull out of my garage or parking spot. If you give it at least one good push, you should be fine.
