Bought my 06 a week ago and I'm regretting it now $$$
So I ended up buying my 06 Boulder Grey H3 w/78,000 miles last Wednesday. I drove it for a week and noticed a few things that needed to be fixed. I wasn't sure if some of the things I was hearing would really be anything since I wasn't used to the H3. Well.....
I received the dreaded call from the dealership today, and... he quoted me $6,500 to fix several issues. I was so in shock and pissed at the moment when he was rattling off what was wrong all I heard was "Manifold, Axle, Valve, Module". He continued to tell me that since I just bought the car last week my warranty wasn't in effect yet, so he told me to come get the car and drive it around for a few months until my warranty becomes active (I bought an extended 4yr 48,000 mile warranty). I told him "I DON'T THINK SO!" they just sold me a damn car a week ago that they supposedly do a multi-point inspection on and didn't see any of these problems? The car also came with a dealer 1 month warranty that would run out if I came and got the car. Did he really ask me that question???? WTF
He then proceeded to tell me that he will talk to the used car manager and see if we can't get something done, but the manager will not be there until Monday. He did agree with me that this isn't right and these were all pre-existing problems. He did have some sympathy, so we will see how things go on Monday. This is a very well known dealership in Des Moines Iowa so let's hope they do the right thing.
It worries me though, how much other crap could possibly be wrong with it? I think when I talk to him Monday I will ask him to do a full inspection of the car to make sure no other issues arise.
I LOVE this H3, but damn! Now I'm driving around this stupid Chevy Cruze rental which feels like I'm in a go cart with a roof and doors. I'm 6'5" and let's just say I should be playing circus music when I exit this thing!
Any friendly words of advice from my fellow H3 owners??? I absolutely refuse to pay for any of this!

If it's a big reputable dealership you should be in good hands. I know from personal experience though, you have to keep on them to do the right thing and dealerships are usually slow in getting things done.
I would get as much in writing as I could. Hang on to all of your e-mails with them and any correspondence (letters). Write down your phone conversations as soon as you hang up with them. Document everything, just in case you need to see an attorney. It probably won't come to that though.
That's my 2 cents. Hang in there.
I don't see that list? You are on a forum for advice, you can go ahead and share ALL the information!
Or you could bring it here, and I will check it out for you.
Not a good thing to start your post, trashing the H3, especially when you are NOT giving ALL the information, why you are "regretting"!
Please share your "13 things". TIA

Second, I was not trashing the H3. I was mainly stating the issues I had within the first week of ownership. You can clearly see in my second to last paragraph that I stated "I LOVE this H3". Trust me I want my H3 back more than anything! The dealership shouldn't have put that vehicle on their lot without fixing it. Maybe I should have been more specific and said "I regret buying "that H3" from "that Dealership"". Sorry if I hurt your feelings.
Since you requested the 13 things, I will list them. My mistake though, there are only 10.
1. Heat/AC **** and a few other buttons not illuminating.
2. RPM's drop when coming to a stop (sounds like it wants to die) (rough idle)
3. Steering wheel shakes when stopped.
4. Hear a clicking/popping noise from front end when turning at higher speeds.
5. Plastic pieces on left and right of windshield fading/peeling.
6. Front grille bent, not on properly.
7. Check on floor-mats dealership said they ordered when I bought the car since none were in stock at the time.
8. Ticking noise coming from passenger floorboard when accelerating.
9. Service TPM monitor.
10. Exhaust seems louder than normal.
Hey I can understand while you're so upset. You buy a rig that was inspected and then you find out it's got problems. I understand because I've been there.

Well I got great news today, and a little more clarification on what exactly was wrong.
1. Cracked exhaust manifold - GM is paying for half/Dealership is paying the other half.
2. Axle (not exactly sure what's wrong with it, he didn't go into much detail) - GM is paying for half/Dealership is paying the other half.
3. Head/Valve - GM is paying for half/Dealership is paying the other half.
4. Control Module for the non-illuminating lights - GM is paying for half/Dealership is paying the other half.
5. Plastic pieces on left and right of windshield - Neither will replace (I figured this wouldn't be covered since it was more cosmetic, but heck it was worth a shot)
6. Front Grille - The dealership fixed and put on correctly.
7. Service TPM - Dealership is replacing the two that are malfunctioning.
My warranty wouldn't cover any of these issues since they were all preexisting! Glad the dealership owned up and took care of everything for me.
So to be positive about the situation... I'm happy a few of the known H3 issues will be fixed free of charge, and hopefully my H3 should last me quite a while without costly repairs (especially the dreaded head/valve issue). Even though I have a 4 year 48,000 mile warranty that should cover the majority of things, I would rather not use it at all!
And above all I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL I CAN DRIVE IT AGAIN!! I was so in love with the dang thing when I test drove it!
Now back to waiting...
Me too! I will make sure to do this with every used car I get from now on.
On your list if ten things I believe most if us have 2, 3, and 5. Run some injector cleaner and get a new air cleaner, which will help some but it will still do it at idle. Mine has never died. As for plastic see the "wipe new" stuff or equivalent at auto parts store. Last stuff I used for the fading lasted like 3 months or so and that was with parking in the sun everyday. Good luck!

She is running like a champ now!
