Great link blaine, thanks. Maybe this is the source of the burning smell that some folks have been complaining about. Amazing how the contacts and plastic got fried.

Now see!!! That's the beauty of these forums! That's EXACTLY the smell I have coming out of the vents from time to time and that would also explain why I only smell it on Re-Circ or the Max setting. I'm going outside today and look in there and if it's burnt I'll add that to my list of stuff the dealer needs to correct.

not a problem guys glad i could be of help. Its a very common problem with the colorados.

I want to thank you for the info. In following the wiring diagrams, I would'nt have looked at the resistor. Usually when the resistor is bad, you still have high speed and I had no blower on any speed. Hot wired the blower and it worked fine. After reading your post, went out and had to PRY a melted connector from the burnt resistor. To visually look at the back side of the connector and wiring, it looked normal.Thanks again.
