Blinking Gear Light on Dash Gauge?

Default Blinking Gear Light on Dash Gauge?
I had a friend test drive a h3 alpha for me and notice the light was blinking on the dash.. when it was in Reverse the R would blink and then when he had it in Drive the D would keep blinking. What does that mean? Transmission problem?

CORRECTION.. it's not blinking, it just goes missing in and out.. about to upload video now..
