Got the h3 back from the dealer with a new flat black grille. Will posts pictures after it goes back in on tuesday. The dealership is going to redo the 5 rims on warranty. So as of wednesday they will have a new flat black powder coat finish

 

that sounds great, can't wait to see them. I have the gloss black grille

 

I had my choice of body color, gloss black or flat. I went with flat.

 

I like the look of the flat black, anything but chrome. Mine is body color, came that way with the Championship Edition and I like that look also. What happened to the rims? Were they chrome and peeled or something?

 

Sounds cool - did they start w/ another color-matched grille (or pre-painted from GM) or your chrome grille? Hope it was the former - never seen paint last on a chrome grille (even if it's roughed up, primed, etc).

Congrats on the warranty wheels -- that's a real hit-or-miss repair based on the local GM warranty person or the dealer's relationship with them.

 

All 5 rims had filiform corrosion (chalky white lines under the clear coating).

The grille was not the chrome one, as it was damaged and left with the insurance company. I was told that the new grille was just primed and I had to choose the paint finish.

Can't wait to get the h3 back...
