Maybe you over-oiled your K&N and contaminated your MAF sensor

I just bought k&n filter and it came pre-oiled.

I think I found a reason for excessive fuel use. See my post "Kaboom...." I think my head just blew up.

first fuel up

I had just filled tank last night with a 349mi on tripmeter (no fuel warning light). Filled tank again and calculated a 18.19 mpg. I have 06 H3 adv pkg 5spd manual transmission on 285/75 r16 (33's right?). I use an iPhone app called Road Trip lite to track my fuel records. I have goodtread and would like to goto 35's and concerned overloading the engine and clutch life.
