Bilstein Shock Question.
I purchased Bilstein 4600 for the H3. When I opened up my new toys. I noticed that the front shocks came with two additional rubber pieces (bushings) that were on the shaft. These two pieces are not the ones with the metal retainers (I received them too) that are used to secure the top of the shock to the hummer. These bushings are are strictly rubber. I have a 2009 H3 base model. I have changed shocks on other cars and trucks before, however I do not remember seeing extra bushings. Then again this is my first Bilstein purchase.

If you are wondering what to do with those extra rubber bushings?
It all depends on, if you lifted your rig?
If you did, use them, if not, throw them out.
All shocks have a comfort zone (area of travel during normal driving), however if you lift your rig, the shock is out of the zone(stiff ride), therefore you need to add a bushing.
BTW, mounting the upper part of the shock is: shock, metal washer, rubber bushing, frame, rubber bushing, metal washer, nut. If you lifted, add the rubber bushing below the frame, above the metal washer. GL
