Default Better iced tea via H3T and Diamondback

I'm from Texas... and we Texans drink iced tea... a lot of it.

The best iced tea is made using the sun. Just fill a glass container with water and some tea bags, screw down the lid, set it in the sun, and give it several hours to percolate. Sun tea is smooth... not harsh... never bitter.

Usually, I make sun tea by setting out the glass container early in the morning on a table located on the patio. Then, between 3 and 5 p.m., I retrieve the container, pour the tea in a drinking glass with ice cubes, and enjoy. The tea lasts a couple of days in the refrigerator (if it isn't all gone by then)... after that, it gets a funky taste.

This holiday weekend I learned a better way to make sun tea. I set the glass container on the Diamondback aluminum cover of the H3T in the driveway... more refraction of the sun... more heat... 360 degrees of sun reflection... I use tea brought back from China last month and it is an awesome taste.

If you like tea, try it with the sun. If you have a Diamondback cover on your H3T... it is even better !

Been making sun tea for years. Never used a Hummer before though. With the Texas heat this summer you could just about make sun tea in the shade now.

I still don't understand dry counties though....

but when I lived there beer runs were fun.... if we ran out of what we grabbed on-base... we were in for a long night... that usually ended up in CB hide and seek.... followed by a trip to whataburger....

I had a friend get married out in west Texas up toward the panhandle. I think the town was Childress but not sure now. We went to get booze for the bachelor party only to find out that everything was dry for several counties around us. We had to drive into Oklahoma to buy beer and liquor for his party. I don't understand it either. It didn't stop us from getting the booze and having the party, it just made us pay the sales tax to a different entity.
