I am new to the forum and have owned a 2003 H2 for about a year. Have had the typical problems of a midwestern car and the rust caused by salting the roads. Have had the break lines replaced. Did not have any problem getting this done. However, I recently had a number of warning lights come on all of which were diagnosed as Control Module issues. I had to purchase a new body control module, new module that controls the cluster of gauges in the dashboard and the most costly and difficult to find was the ABS control module and valve system/unit. I had a very difficult time finding this part. Countless part suppliers would say they had the parts online and then I would find out they didn't have any. I finally located one at Quality Auto Parts out of Austin Texas. They told me there were only three of these systems available in North America. I have been shocked that GM has left Hummer owners in the lurch with parts. Where are you all finding replacement parts for your H2s? I would like to have some suppliers available for when the inevitable happens. Thanks.
You bought an old truck that the latest models of which have not been manufactured in more than 10 years. Surprised?
Ebay, Craig's List, on line GM parts sellers, car-part.com, local pick n pulls. Buy now, inventory for later. Look at it this way, you get to learn how to be a parts scrounger.
Thanks for your reply and suggestions for where to find parts. I also appreciate your suggestion of buying ahead of time parts that I might need. Are there specific parts you would recommend that I locate now and buy in anticipation of a problem? On another thread someone stated that the fuel pump commonly has issues. I am assuming this is a GM part that is easy fo find since it would not be Hummer specific? I would appreciate any recommendations that you might have. The truck only has around 50,000 miles on it so rust and the age of the vehicle seems to be the problem.
its not that the pumps have issues it is that the plate on the top assembly rots out causing evap leaks and fuel smells. sometimes the hose barbs also rot. tends to happen around the same time the brake lines rot and leak.
Thanks Bronxtec, If I am understanding you correctly, then what I should look at now is the plate on top of the fuel pump and if it is looking corroded start looking for a replacement plate now? Thanks for your guidance.

Very rare for a module to be the source! Yet you replaced the BCM, IPCM, ABSM?
Who pays for the misdiagnosis?
Repair shops pass along the costs associated with a misdiagnosed vehicle to the customer.

yes they can get pinholes or worse snap the fittings. the fuel lines and tank are plastic and do not really rot out.
