Default Best H3 Lift Kit to Maintain Factory Ride

Searched the forums here and couldn't find the specific answer I was looking for. I am looking to put a 3" or maybe higher lift on my H3 Alpha. I tried adjusting the torsion bars, but it made the ride awful and eventually I know it would start to F stuff up in the long run. I have decided to park this and make it my weekend driver. With that being said does anyone have any insight on what the best lift kit would be for the money to maintain the factory ride? I have a set of 35" tires I plan to install after the lift kit. I know some lift kits are priced over $2,000 but I am trying to stay on a somewhat budget and don't want to spend that kind of money.

If anyone could provide some information of their experience or what the best route would be it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

The problem is that you dont have many options here. Either a ~2" lift from t-bars and shackles or a 4" Rough Country or Rancho lift. The first option is low budget but the ride and suspension angles suffer. The second option is a good kit but requires new wheels and costs several grand more.

did you get an alignment done after cranking the tbars? Ride quality shouldn't suffer much, and a lot of experienced owners here have had theirs cranked with no problems in the long run. I agree with RSC, and also remember you get what you pay for.

Whatever you do, 35" tires will make your ride worse on top.

Best off-road performance/ride comfort compromise in my opinion is t-bar crank to 23.5", Bilstien shocks, extended front bumpstops (helps on road handling, hurts off road crawling), and 33" tires on 16" rims either 285 or 305.

I think keeping it at 23.5" and extended bumpstops is the best idea. Of course getting it aligned is important too. Many H3's are running around like this and to be honest, the only negative I've felt is increased dive while braking and everything happening slower from the extra weight of the 35's.

If you adjusted the T Bar bolts to level the front and and your ride went to chit, it is because you went too far.

i did the t-bar crank and rear 2" shackle lift and my rig rides fine. i dont have the extended bump stops but you get used to the nose dive after a while. just try to brake slower. if you havnt added a winch up front yet you might wanna do it before cranking the t-bars up, or you will have to adjust them again. i cranked mine, then added the winch and winch plate and found my front end wasnt leveled anymore due to all the extra weight hanging off the front. ended up having to crank the t-bars again.

Trailduty.com sells the bumpstops with the bilsteins. I actually like my ride with 35s.
