Battery replacement recommendation?

2010 Hummer H3 Alpha. 46K. Serviced regularly.

Anyway, yesterday, while on vacation, the car was parked and I was sitting in it for maybe 10 minutes with just the radio on, the windows open catching the sea breeze and then went to turn it on. CLICK CLICK CLICKTY CLICK. H3 won't start.

Tried again. Same thing.

Called OnStar and another service. OnStar sucks. Period. They take forever and half the time don't have what is required. Anyway, H3 starts up with a charge. Destination is 20 minutes away. H3 stays on. Get to restaurant. Go out a few times to make sure she starts. She does. Gas up for the 120 mile ride home. She starts again. This am, she starts again.

Regardless, I want to change the battery, so after a long story, any recommendations on a reliable battery?

By the way, there are no mods or pre-amps or any nonsense in the H3, stock GM navi with XM, DVD players in the head rests (never used) and nothing else.

Appreciate a few rock solid recos.

Thanks.

If you still have the OEM for absolute crap battery terminal connectors, I would change those while you are swapping the battery, or even before that, with a quality aftermarket set, like Stingers (or your favorite brand). Fist mod every H3/H3T should have.

Any group 86 AGM battery will do. The terminal connectors are way more important.

First time I am hearing about this (I've had a Hummer since 2006).

Anywhere I can read up on this and see what to do?

So hitting Costco for a group 86 AGM battery will be OK?

Where did you get it for that price? All I get is $135.00 for that battery.

States it is for Northern weather. Need one for SoCal weather. Temps as high as 110º.

Any suggestions?

Any thoughts on Bosch?

A 4 year old battery should still be good.
I pulled my OEM battery out of my 2007 H3 when I installed dual Optima's. I put that OEM into my 1965 Dodge Firetruck and it's still going strong.

Like Doc mentioned, change those crappy OEM battery terminal connectors NOW.
I would do that before buying a new battery and see if that takes care of it. Bad connections can cause a whole lot of electrical problems including charging the battery but especially messing up the BCM.

Changing those terminals is the FIRST thing every H3 owner should do whether you have issues or not. It's just a matter of time, you will.
