battery problem URGENT

Hello ! I have a Hummer h2 2003 and here is the problem. Today, when I turned off the car, the radio didn't turn off. I thought, maybe if I start the car and shut it down, it will fix. I did that, and it stays turned on. The battery light on the panel, when the engine is working is off but when I stop the engine and remove the key it stays on and the radio too. The battery light stays on. What is the problem?

If I had to make a quick guess, I'd be looking at the ignition switch....

agreed about the ign switch.. try to wiggle the key next time to fully "lock" it into the off position. try it with the driver door open so the bcm will shut down right away

Hello,
I have the same issue today with a H2 2003 too: the battery and all the onboard lights stay on when the car is turned off and the key removed, but the battery light off when I start the car.
The battery is OK (12V) and the alternator works fine.
How to verify the ignition switch before ordering a new one ?
Is there any fuse to check ?
Another idea ?
In advance thank you very much for your help.

It's prolly not you ignition switch, it may be you interlock switch on your shifter causing the ignition lock switch lock to activate. Too funny mine did the same thing today (again) I plulled mine out today if tomorrow while out driving around no issues arise I going to keep it out! And then put my steering column covers back on.

My '03 had the same problem and it was the ignition switch.

Thank you for your reply.
Please, could you explain how do you disassembled the parts to access the ignition switch ?
In advance thank you very much for your help.
