Is it possible he has gotten his hands on one of our passwords and that's how he does it? May be worth us changing them and see if this info feed ends or if it persists .. just a thought ... I know how easy it would be for me to grab your passwords if I wanted to.. and I don't even have that kind of access to the site :/

 

And while I'm on the subject ... WTF!?!?! I spend ONE day at work trying to get my azz fired (been in everyone's office from the VP of HR up to the CEO's today) and all holy hell breaks loose!? What the hell set this off? I apparently can't see the useless post bit so I have no clue here :/ Did that ridiculous banning incident flare back up again? Sheeeeeeesh!

 

The only person that can do that is Patrick, and he has nothing against you. You even said you rebooted and it went away the first time. Did you install any updates to your browser, or install any new virus update or spam filter? It sounds like your cookie for being logged into the site is deleting itself, which is a problem on your computer.

But, that's just a theory

 

passwords on this software are encrypted...the only way that he could know one of your passwords, is if he changed it to something that he knew, in which case the mod in question wouldnt be able to login.

chris, for a change, im not getting any complaints about the site not working properly...so perhaps it is a cookie issue?

Here is my big beef about all this....it ALL could of been avoided!! Sure I was wrong for calling lane a moron, A simple pm from him to me would have cleared up the ENTIRE mess. He decided to attempt to reprimand me in the public forum....still I NEVER badmouthed Dennis or said anything even close to bieng disrespectful to him....you can all go back and re-read the threads if you want proof. All I said was that he was wrong for what he did and that I didn't appreciate it....then he locked the thread after making his post about me.....so that he could have the last word. He did this on multiple threads when other members were getting on him for his comments to a member of HF that happend to be in law enforcement.......he would make a last word post then lock the thread so that no one could disagree with him. Then he banned us.......that was the ultimate coward move IMO.....people are disagreing and argueing with me...let's bann them so that I never have to answer their valid points.


Patrick, you were 100% correct in your handling of the situation. You asked me not to resort to namecalling and I haven't. More importantly you asked me in the mods section like any respectful person would and I so appreciate that. I have done a lot for this forum.....from helpingcountless amounts of people with their questions about their hummer totaking over 10 hours of my time and dozens of pages printed on photo paper till I got the decal that Dennis was looking for.....I did all this for FREEbecause I love this place and have mademore than a few good friends here.One good thing that has come from this all is that I now know that Mike, Zyne, Jdrew, shorty anda few others will always have my back and not to sound to mushy here, but that really means alot to me.Bieng that I am the one who basically caused this whole thing to go down I will volenteer(sp?) to be given the ax and to be banned if you feel it will make things return to normal. The last thing I want on my consience is that I caused HF and all my good friends to be hurt by a disagreement I had with an ego-maniac.

Something that no one here knows is that I was an admin. on a very very large forum, we had over 3000 members and had on average 5 pages of new posts in each seperate forum....per day!! I had 38,000 posts and wasn't even in the top ten!! This place was a private site that you had to be voted in by the board of directors to become a member and because it was this way we were all like family. People would travel from Maine to Alabama every year for our rally...it was AWESOME!!! Well a few years back the board of directors got upset with the site's owner and when the owner left for his families vacation they somehow took over the site and kicked him out banning his ip. As you can imagine he felt like he got thrown under a bus and was devastated. He had to go through legal channels and ended up getting the site name back but the site itself including thousands of archived pages and all the members stayed with the group of theives. He eventually started a new site and is doing well but it took over a year and alot of work by him and I to get the new place running again. I lost over a hundred very good friends in that disaster, friends that I have never seen or heard from again, just because I left with the owner to help setup a new board and didn't stay at the old one...and that hurt. This is why I am blunt to the point and sometimes a dik when I post in message boards. See, the owner of that site did nothing wrong either, he did nothing but bann a few members after numerous warnings for uncalled for behavior. He banned them after a month or so of warnings but they had enough time to send out hundreds of PM's with lies and speculation trying to get people on their side of the fence...and it worked. I don't want that to happen
