Default Auto Trans Issue.....anyone???

Hi All,

first time posting on here, mostly check out everyone's rides and get lots of great info from the threads. Anyway, i have an 07 H3 5 cyl. it has only 32k miles on it. i bought it about 8-9mo. ago off a lease. a week ago the transmission started to shift really hard from first to second gear. i gave it another day or two and about 85% of shifts were hard, then the check engine light came on. I brought it to the dealer, luckily still under manufacture warranty. they apparently took apart the trans and did some work. i am waiting for it to be completed today or tomorrow and to get a full on explanation of what they did. Its been there since Friday, so almost a week.

Anyone have any issues like this? What was it?

Oh Yeah and i got a DTS to drive around in. not a bad deal.

something like this is happening with my 06 I5 aswell. Only difference is that it does shift gears smoothly. the harsh part is when i stomp on the gas pedal when i pass or when starting from a complete stop.

So here is what I found Out. The transmission cooler broke and started sending coolant through the transmission. The Hummer dealer yanked everything out, "fixed it", put it back together and still the trans isn't shifting right. Thank god for warranties.

Glad I have the external cooler in mine. That repair is usually not covered under warranty and costs several thousand dollars.

The transmission will be covered under the 5/100K drivetran warranty (depending on model year) as long as you are under 5 years and 100K, the radiator will not be covered if you are past the 4/50K Bumper 2 Bumper warranty. Although I have heard of HUMMER "Good Will" taking care of both of them under warranty wven though the warranty peroid for the radiator was already passed.

Finally got my H3 back. they completely rebuilt the Tranny and replaced the radiator. Would have cost me over $3k in parts alone, but thankfully it was covered by the warranty.

Transmission had to be replaced in my 07 H3 with only 5,000 miles on it. 61,000 on it now and have not had another problem.

That's good to hear bc I was considering getting rid of my H3. I didn't want to end up having this happening again after the warranty runs out.
