Default Anyone own a Gobi Stealth Rack?

My H2 didn't come with any roof racks.
The OEM versions are not the best for strapping down boards & what not. That's why I'm looking at the Gobi. They claim the entire height of the vehicle will be 6'10" once installed.

How tall is the H2 w/ the standard roof racks? I never had a problem with parking garages with my old 03 & stock racks. I want to keep it that way.

CarID has it listed for just over $1600 shipped (cheapest I can find it).

I bought one from Gobi themselves years ago for $1600.00. I actually traded mine to Citiboy on this forum for his 4 roof rails and one had a light bar. I am happy about it because I use my sunroof a lot but couldnt use it while I had the Gobi rack on it because of the excruciating wind noise. Anyway, I don't know the height of truck but once I got the cage I could not park in any garages, had to do valet parking or park outside.

Thanks.
I wasn't aware the noise was that bad. That would be a deal breaker; I take the H2 on the interstate too much. That sucks.

Off hand, how much shorter are the stock roof racks? I might just have to buy 3 or even 4 like you have. 2 was never enough.

I have a stealth with the sunroof cut out. With my old halogens the lights made so much wind noise I never opened the sunroof. The LED bars I have now are much quieter but still annoying enough to leave the sunroof closed all the time. Even on the regular roads the wind noise is pretty loud.

i have the stealth rack on my truck also. its awesome i love the rack but i will say as said above there is a lot of wind noise with the sun roof open on the highway. its fine if your alone in the truck but if you want to talk to someone its not gonna happen you will have to close the sun roof. with the sun roof closed there is noticeably more wind noise than stock but definitely not overwhelming. its fine to talk on the phone and talk to passengers. i have the halogen roof lights which probably contributes to the noise. and you wont be able to get into any shopping mall parking garages anymore i forgot once and hit the height bar before i made it into the actual garage. my truck is also slightly lifted with 35's so it might not be that bad for a normal height h2.

besides that the rack looks awesome and is functional if you need it.

I made up my mind to get 3 or 4 stock roof racks, but the extra comments further substantiated my position. I need to fit in parking garages (this would make going to the hospital a nightmare, otherwise).

The rack doesn't look any higher than stock, but it must be higher than claimed (6'10' should fit in a 7' parking garage, lol). I never had issues with the stock roof racks. I just wanted a better way to secure lumber.

That saves me about $800, though. I can put that into a grill mounted LED light bar instead.

Thanks everyone!
