No, that is not correct. Hi lock will lock the transfer case. It will not lock right and left wheels on each axle together.

4Hi-lock takes it out of AWD into 4wd... which if I am correct changes the power delivery from a torque splitting to an equal amount of power being pushed to the front and rear. It does not lock the axles.

You cannot engage the locker(s) in 4-hi either, you must be in 4-low to engage them.

Exactly right about the torque splitting in 4hi lock.

Damn, I wish I'd known even a locker was an option when we bought the H3. So - what would the cost be to add those?

I don't know what the cost would be, it comes standard with the "Adventure Package" along with the Blisten off-road shocks, 33" tire size and the lower gearing for the transfer case. There are a few other goodies in that package too, totally worth the extra cost.

Although I picked up my H3T for much less than even a base model

Usually runs about a thousand per axle, roughly.
