I have heard that the Hummers (not sure if H2 / H3 or both) are prone to the windshield cracking from rock chips. Anyone had any problems like this and if so, how often? TIA

 

Luckily, I haven't had this problem(knock on wood), but yeah, seems to happen often because of the angle of the windshield!!

 

No more prone than any other vehicle with vertical winshields, maybe less. My buddy has replaced his Jeep windshield twice in the past year. I have one small, repaired chip. Arizona is bad for windshields with a lot of gravel traveling the highways but the insurance coverage is good as it is typically a no-deductible repair. When I had a Ford Ranger for work I put in two windshields in one year.

 

I've not had any rocks hit my windshield (knock on wood too ) When I had my camaro, I had the windshield replaced 3 times. I would think being lower to the ground would make the rocks on the windshield much worse .... at least for me it did.

 

The H2 windshields seem to collect rocks. I had three chips in my H2 windshield. I never replaced it because none were in line of site areas and I knew the next chip was only a few months away.
