Default Any problems with manual transmissions?

Hello everybody out there! I'm seriously considering an '07 H3 with a manual transmission. However, I've been told that there have been numerous problems with the manuals, though nobody has ever really been able to tell me what the problems are. So.... has anybody had any bad experiences with them? Are problems common among them? Help please!!! Any and all advice is greatly appreciated.

The H3 manual is pretty solid and will actually last longer than the auto trans. The auto in my '06 H3 needed replacement at about 150k miles as a point of reference.

If you want to drive a manual, just go for it.

Manual transmissions are great and will last a long time, if you know how to use them. Buying a used vehicle with a manual transmission, should be checked out by a professional. GL

My 07 manual has been faultless for seven years.
I only wish it were a six speed.

if theres a weak spot between the engine and transfer caes in a stick shift it will probably be the clutch and hardware around it. see how it feels engaging slowly and how much play is in the pedal. in other words is it adjusted right or worn, slipping. drive slow in each gear and listen, feel anything?
I often miss my old 4 speed. fun, I bet an h3 stick is fun

Our H3T 5 speed was tough as nails. It will all depend on the previous owner and how they drove it. If they rode the clutch a lot or burned it more than once the clutch may need to be replaced. Other than that a good drain and fill of the trans should and you should be good to go.

Eh just dont exceed the parameters the vehicle was designed for. I tow more than I should and used to spend alot of time wheeling and camping with 5 people and gear all with 35s. The gear chatter now is pretty bad and the syncros are worn out. The clutch definitely needs to be replaced as well but I am at 108,000 miles now.
