Default Another nice hummer...

I have some questions about this ride too and I think he posts here. Sorry just trying to do some homework before the big buy!

I see you leveled it, what kind of tires and what size are they?

That would be myH3 and my dog, Trooper. Those are LT315/75/R16 Goodyear MT/R tires. I know a lot of H3 owners like the Toyo Open County tires, but I went with the MT/R because it is about 14 lbs lighter per tire. I've had excellent performance out of them so far. I would highly recommend them for wheelin. They arefairly quiet too. You can safely air them down to about 18 lbs PSI and they grab like crazy! I went up some pretty steep slopes with loose rock and gravel without ever touching my rear locker. Good luck on the purchase! Just make sure you get out and wheel with the new toy!

Just out of curiosity, where are you getting these pics.........?

Not implying anything here at all...Just a honest question.

(Right after I bought my first H3, I did the same thing...Googled anything H3 related and hit EVERY forum gallery I could find)

It's a Defender roof rack. It actually came free with the 6" Pro-Comp 100 lights. I'm going to replace them with KC 50 5" lights, because I barely fit in my garage; the Pro-Comps rub going in. The Defender rack is reasonably priced and you can put a bunch of gear up there.

I probably lost about 1 MPG with the 35". I keep an Excel spreadsheet with my fuel data from before and after any mods. I'm actually gettting better milage than I thought, because I forgot to factor in the larger circumference of the tires. For instance, with my 33" tires, it takes 611 revolutions to travel 1 mile. The 35"s only take 580 revolutions to travel the same mile. So if my odometer reads 250 miles when I am filling up, I've actually traveled 263.4 miles. Remarkably, my speedometer isn't that far off from stock. I calculated using GPS that when the speedo displays 72 MPH I'm actually going about 75 MPH.

One more quick question. Does it mount on the factory crossbars? The website said H3 with factory roof rack. I don't have the crossbars. From the pics it looks like it mounts directly to the rails. How hard was it to install? Thanks again for all the info!
