Another n00b question
So where do you go when you need people who know Hummers and can help point you in the right direction?
Here I am again... looking for some tires + rims...
Cant decide between wanting to go with a bigger/higher profile tire, maybe even some super swampers , or a lower profile tire with 20,22 inch rims
I do know for sure that I would like straight black rims with or without a chrome lip and very little to no chrome on the wheel
opinions??
Thanks fellow Hummer junkies

Ryan, you going to be doing more on road or off road driving?

I do go offroad, however not so often. (Maybe once every couple months, not including the occasional go-up-over-the-curb-because-the-moron-in-front-of-you-is-in-the-right-hand-turn-lane-but-going-straight)
But apart from that that's probably it. I don't mind sacrificing too much offroad capability, but it's quite nice to have it...

RE: Another n00b question
Personally, I wouldn't go larger than an 18" rim. That gives a good balance of "look at me" while still providing enough sidewall for wheeling. And I'd stick with a tire that has decent on-road manners. Something like the Toyo MT, ProComp MT, or Mickey Thompson MTZ. The new BFG KM2's are nice also, but aren't as road friendly.

RE: Another n00b question
Low profile tyres are for Sidewalk Commandos! Real Four Wheelers use real 4x4 tires with real proportionate sidewall width. The extra sidewall does a couple things; it gives your suspension a break because it acts to dampen road shock. It acts as a "float" when you have to air down in the really soft stuff and NEED some more tread on the ground. It keeps the rocks and road nasties away from your rims and wheels when you hit something too hard.
If you don't plan to off road and have every intention of keeping your H3 Mall Rated then get whatever tire you want.
