Default Alright would like some advice please

I have recently been searching for a Hummer H3 as my "gasser" 2500hd is starting to have its problems at 263k miles.. There are a few things I'm hoping I could get some advice on.

Now, I am on a budget so no, +20k h3s for me.. I was first wondering if there are any years that I need to avoid, certain problems they pay have to look for? Ill probably be getting a 2006 or 2007 are these year models ok? I was also wanting one with a sunroof, are these harder to find? Any help would be appreciated ! thanks, hopefully soon I can meet a few of you and hit the trails

06 had bad heads,(some),so just keep it simple to start and skip those.
carmax and dozens of dealers list them on the web.
a cheap, under 20k will probably been beat around in the dirt so look em over with care.
if you see sign that it has been in deep water it will prob rust sooner than others.
if you "feel'anything out of normal,be careful.

check all 4wheel modes, read about them if you dont know now.
you should spend time reading lots of threads here.

I bought my 06 base model with about 37k on it, straight off-lease, for 17,9. I am approaching 100k wiht no major issues(knock>wood) Prior lease vehicles are usually kept up fairly well. If you find an 06 you like, search the "bad head vins" here and find out if it falls into that production run.

Good luck

Plenty of good deals out there to be had on them under 20k. Auto auctions are also a good place to look. Picked up my 07 Lux for just under 16k.

I've seen them located on the web and in car buying books for 13-18 high mileage.

Thumbs up

As an owner of an 06 which i am extremely happy with, if i knew what i know now i would go with the 07 this time. Alot peppier with the 3.7L, a better warranty, and hopefully an 07 that has power window controls closer to my hand and not my elbow! Also, if you do not plan on any serious off-roading i would get the Lux package instead of the Adventure. Good Luck and let us know what you get!

I replaced a 04 super v-10 super duty with a 07 h3. I love it I have only had it for 2.5 weeks and already have had the radiator replaced today. I only have 44,000 miles on it with a sunroof. I am getting around 18 mpg.
