The Wall Street Journal is reporting that every H3 ever made (or at least in the US) is being recalled due to an issue with a hood component flying off and striking other vehicles if the issue occurs when driving.

I am not a member of WSJ so it would only let me read the first few lines. My wifes daily driver is a 2006 H3 so how do I find out if it is one of the 162,000 being recalled?

 

oh its all of them....well i guess i should take ours to the local gm dealer.

 

It is in fact EVERY H3 regardless of your country. I am in Canada and I called my dealer, and they said based on my VIN that yes, my H3 is being recalled.

 

NO, it is not ALL H3 and H3Ts!

Oh okay, thanks for the info, my dealer (Roy Foss Hummer) said it was every H3 so I just assumed. Thx.

 

Its happened on mine already and judging from these forums quite a few others... can't believe its taken them this long to notice its a problem?

I just glued it down - seems fine now. Did seem a bit silly the way it was secured - couldn't see what would have been wrong with some bolts or screws through the hood.

 

Letters to be mailed to owners starting next week.

i really dont know if i want to give up my option of removing/changing it in the future. i mite want onr of those fancy dancy ones and need dynamite to get this one off!!
