Can I just open up the air box on my 08 just to let the engine breath better? Has anyone done this without going to an aftermarket filter set-up?

what about us alphas? anybody hear anything about cai for us? i really want a truflow foam filter, but they dont make one [&o].

I HAVE A TRUE FLOW AND LOVE IT,I USE A K&N FILTER WITH IT

Not a good idea. Engine compartment air is hot, less dense and less oxygen

Has anyone got any hard evidence about the effects of a modified air intake? Something like a dyno test.
