Aftermarket Battery
After hours of searching various hummer forums I have decided just to ask.
I'm looking to install an XS Power battery under the hood. The D3400 to be exact or maybe a D3100 if I can get it to fit. I know the stock battery is a group 86 so I would have to make some modifications to make it fit. I currently have an optima yellow top D35. It fits in the stock location without the top of the battery cover.
I was wondering if anyone has installed this battery under the hood? Or any group 34 or 31 battery?
I saw that artec makes a dual battery mount for H3s, but I have no idea on how to even start an install on one of those, and even if they fit in the 2006s. Any info on how to install one would be great.
Also, how do you remove the stock battery box?
Thanks guys

battery notes
over 50 yrs of owning a couple dozen cars i either broke or lost the batt hold down stuff and usually did nothing about it. the batt is so heavy,it just doesnt go anywhere, the heavy stiff cables help also. im still waiting for my first problem in actually 53 years.
so unless you're doing rollover tricks you will prob never have a batt move. the most u might need to do is tie a string from the neg term to the left fender!.
theres a tremendous amount of overkill in this area.
if u think stuff will bounce around driving down the rr tracks, like they used to do in caddy commercials in the fifties, just put a block of wood on the dash and see if u can bounce it off! it may slide w/o a piece of string!
oh,batteries dont bounce!
oh again;in 53 yrs i had a few crashes,NEVER a batt problem,,,not one
