Default Advise on supercharger

Looking to put a supercharger on my 2003 H2. Just wondering if it is worth it. All opinions are greatly appreciated.

MOVED. Questions about H2s should go in the H2 section, not the Drivetrain Area. Note where it says: "This section is an archive of older posts, please post new questions in the specific model section. Thank you!"

Well the option is up to you. Are you going to be towing with it? or just looking to give it a pair? It increased my fuel mileage by @ 2 MPG when I'm not in the throttle. needs less throttle to accelerate also. The downside is the whine. whenever it gets about 1/3 or more of throttle the blower bypass closes and its starts spooling up. I have the last generation Magnusson System. the newer one looks like they lowered the boost from 8-6 Lbs. you can fix that with a smaller pulley though.

I tow a fairly heavy travel trailer and have had to do quite a few mods to get the horsepower and torque that I needed to tow comfortably. Also the blower will add a lot of heat into the engine compartment..the Magnusson system has a intake manifold heat exchanger that keeps the top end temps down to around stock but there are other areas that are gonna get hotter than normal also...I Have had to upgrade my transmission, radiator, trans cooler, trans pan, and exhaust manifolds all dealing with heat issues. finally got em all solved but damn was it a pita. If your not gonna be towing then just the Magnusson system is fine the way they sell it. You won't have any issues with it or need to upgrade any of those things I mentioned.

It is on a h2, but I was asking regarding the drivetrain.

Default Finished

Just finished installing a magnuson supercharger in my 05 two weeks ago. Power difference is amazing. I live in the mountains and now she sails over them. No change in mpg after 500 miles
