In the August issue of Four Wheeler they talk about the 08 Hummers..besides complaining that the H2's and H3's still use torsion bars they mention that the adventure package needs to come with "premium tires" as the tires it comes with now are "puncture prone". 27K miles and I havent got a flat yet, anybody else??

I will get 35's when the 33's wear out but they have held up well!

 

I ran over a bow saw on the highway (cuz some retard didn't secure the equipment in his truck). my tires are fine.

 

I had a flat at 18K caused by a big nail. I am sure the "premium" tire would have suffered the same fate.

 

I think what they mean is that the tires are puncture prone when wheeling. The sidewalls aren't the strongest which makes them flex more when aired down...which is great for grabbing rocks but also makes them more prone to puncture.

 

We had a H3 that punctured his driving over a tree in Beckley.

 

We've had a low tire caused by a nail. They're probably a little more puncture resistant, ... but are certainly capable of getting a flat.

 

I had a flat last weekend on mine only 42,000 miles, I was running down a gravel road about 60 and the low tire light came on. Had a nice hole knocked in it right in the middle of the tread. I have taken it through the Superlift Offroad park @ Hot Springs and havent had any issues there on level 1 and 2 trails, and there is heck uva lot of rocks there and havent had any issues at all up there.

 

The Bridgestone Dueler AT is not a bad tire for an all terrain tread. However it's not meant for serious off roading which is what FourWheeler is looking for. No, it's not a Bogger or or an Interco Tire but it won't howl like demons at the gates of hell either. It's a tire soccer moms won't object to and you know as well as I do there are MORE than a few Mommies driving HUMMERs. Here's the specs on the tire for those who care...
