I agree with you. If people are abusive and using bad language you should delete the posts, but there was alot more going on here then just that. It was turned into more and it didn't have to be. You do understand that right?


And NO I'm not trying to be a smartass, I'm just telling you all of this Drama was unnecessary and you don't go attacking people who are supposed to be your friends for no reason other then your own personal pleasure and satisfaction.

Ive spoken to a few members and moderators already, but I would like to begin by apologizing for not knowing more about what was going on sooner,as I feel that some of this mess could have been prevented. Ive been battling some seriouss health issues, the least of which was my wisdom teeth.

Im going to say some thing here, and Im sure that some may be offended, and while that is certainly not my intention, it is bound to happen.

First, no member, especially a moderator, should ever be calling people names. If someone is a moron or a dumbass, telling them that on the forum is only going to create an argument. Its not so much a point of censorship, but rather simply trying to avoid online confrontation. I dont know why someone was called a moron, and they very well may be a moron, but I would appreciate if moderators refrained from name calling. In the end, telling a moron that they are indeed a moron, doesnt do any good. I dont mean to censor anyone, but when I ask that members dont resort to name calling or use of profanity (mostly the moe graphic terms) it is simply to help keep the forum friendly to everyone. Dont get me wrong..in person, i talk like a sailor..."the f word" is word that I use very regularly, typically to get my point across (especially when dealing with the hockey team that i coach) but I refrain from using profanity on the site as some people just arent comfortable with that type of language.

I received an email from a member whose name I did not recognize, saying that a group of mods and members were teaming up on Dennis. When i approached dennis about it, he seemed reluctant to give out names, but I reminded him that he is an admin, and if there is a problem with a moderator doing something improper or against the rules, that he could repremand said moderatorvia PM or a thread in the mod room, and that I would stand behind him. I did not think that he would ban a large group of active members. Because of that, i feel that i am partially responsible for the issue, as I seemed to convey incorrectly how Dennis should deal with the problem. Ultimately, a moderator needs to conduct himself or herself with a level of professionalism higher than that of a regular member, but I do not ask mods to hold back their opinions or feelings, but rather to use more tact than a regular member would use. Dennis has helped with this site a great deal, and I am sorry to see him leave, but it seems as though he is not happy with the direction of the forum. We are all adults, and I feel that these issues could have and should have been discussed in here, and resolved in a rational manner.

It is my understanding that posts and threads have been edited and deleted, so I cannot geta full picture of exactly what happened, but I have to ask, is this over with now? Are there still members here that are going to continue this pissing match? If so, we need to address the issue and work to resolve it, and if not, we can get back to making HF the best hummer site online...

At this point, I appreciate honesty, regardless of how harsh it may seem to some, but lets keep that honesty civil. The point of working to resolve the issue is to do just that; resolve the issue, and not to further fuel te fire.

 

Patrick, you know me by now and know that I am harshly honest so here goes. I am the one who called the guy a moron....the guy IMO is a troll...he IS NOT a hummer owner and has pissed people off quite often in the past. That IS the definition of a troll...is it not? I called him a moron because he made a blanket statement about cops that I felt would be insulting to the members we have that are in law enforcement (we have more than a few) I was right...it was insulting to them and I was just sticking up for our active...non troll members. I do not and never will see anything wrong with that. Denny got upset for one reason only...because the member I called out was a buddy of his from the Land rover forum denny moderates.....THAT IS WHY THIS ALL WENT DOWN. Thats why Denny decided to public reprimand me so that he could look like a big dog....to be honest...if ihe did it like he did in person he would have a few less teeth right now. (sorry, didn't mean to bring up teeth) He then went on to **** others off in other ways but that is their beef, not mine. He has been on a power trip for awhile now and members are getting fed up with it...I have emails asking for his =impeachment if you don't believe me. As far as teh member that pm'd you sayiing we were ganging up on him....I really could care less what LAWWYFE has to say...we all know it's her. Maybe she or others should mind their own business and get the facts before reacting.

Mark....I don't get it? Your ok with Denny banning everyone? I thought I knew you better than that bro...I'm shocked at you. I became a moderator because of YOU..not him. Did you forget about what you told me back then?


BTW....this is not a NEW thing....Denny has been leading up to this point for awhile. As a matter of fact we had a very good member leave a few months ago because he said "He was sick of watching Dennis talk down to people, and when he started taking down to me I had enough and left." That is a word for word quote.

 

it was a guy who complained about the members ganging up on dennis...the person did not give their forum name, so it could have been a made up account name, but it was definately a mans name.

again, i want to apologize to everyone involved, as i feel that i am at fault for dennis banning everyone...because i did not step in when i should have.

That still doesn't explain the personal attacks on me which as you said, he seems to never want to back up with the evidence to prove anything. Everything is a big secret and that is unfortunate. THAT was also uncalled for, and had absolutely nothing to do with what happened. His opinions toward me personally, whether right or wrong, had nothing to do with this situation and the thread in questionand yet he choose to use that against me.

I commented that HIS statement about Jeremy, basically incinuating (not directly saying that) he would be a bad cop (based on the picture in the post) and not knowing the man personally, is why people stood up and spoke out. I told him it was uncalled for and not justified, and that's when it all started, that, and Mike of course coming out of the blue

Anyway, I may have been wrong to post some references to Dennis' personal feelings and remarks towards me in the forum, I apologized to him in my last PM, gave him my phone number(s), told him to call me so we can talk about it, but he never did. I TRIED to resolve the personal aspects in a civil way, but he choose not to, But people wanted to know WHY I was so upset, and unlike him, I have no secrets from my friends.

Instead of approaching us as a mature adult, he decided to attack my personality via PM, with nothing then other user's rumors to back it up, and decides to ban me and Jeremy when we said nothing vulgar or derogatory in the threads. We violated no rules on this forum in that thread, and THAT is abuse of power at it's finest, and also putting your personal feelings toward someone in the mix with what needed to be done.

Going forward, if any of us have a problem with each other, let's talk about it first, instead of harrasing each other on PM's and making bad accusations about our personalities. Dennis apparently thinks I'm a fake and a backstabber, and this isn't the REAL me, well, I have 4 friends on here that I see in the real world that would argue that with him.

Does it affect me personally? Damn right it does. I think we are all done with this drama. I'm willing to STILL work things out with Dennis as I don't hold grudges, but if the offer isn't taken, there's no room for compromise.

And I promise not to ever post anybody's PM text in the forum. That was wrong for me to do and I'm sorry and apologize for it. And I'm not being this other person either when I say that.

P.S. That member ImportKiller is talking about also told me the exact same thing, so that is 100% true. BUT, I kept my mouth shut about it.

 

Don't apologize for being a HUMAN BEING Patrick. If you have health issues, they are above and beyond anything going on in this place. You take care of yourself. You have a new wife to take care of and this isn't worth it. She is your priority, and everything else comes later. Maybe you guys should be thinking about a, well, less stressful career
