Actually got my oil changed today!
I have a bunch of things that need to be done, as most of you know. BUT I was able to get my oil changed today. I noticed that my 3 wasn't running as smoothly as it had.....and it was going to be done yesterday, but all my parts were not in, so the appointment was canceled.
Anyways, I brought a gallon jug and a baggie and asked them to keep the oil filter and some oil from my 3. As most of you know, I had my suspicions as to whether my Hummer dealer actually did an oil change, and they billed GM for it.
I was shocked to see that oil that came out of my 3 was black!!!!! and the filter was just as filthy!!! I will post pics if they will come out....
Even the oil change guys at the GM dealership were shocked! My 3 runs a LOT better now...I put the Mobil 1 Synthetic in......
So, my hunch was right...the Hummer dealer charged GM and didn't even do an oil change......
and I have proof! I'm keeping everything that I can and taking pics of everything else. I can't wait to have the steering shaft pieces repaired tomorrow. It will be a brand new truck!
As for the few fellows on here, that are in the legal business......what can be done, in respect to this bad dealership? I'm going to write a letter to the owner of the Hummer dealership and also probably to GM, and let them know what is being done. Hell, I should demand a new H2 + cash, to keep my mouth shut, and would probably get it!!!
What is your opinion?

You can send a sample of your oil to many places to be analyzed and they can tell you a whole lot about that oil. This is one of them http://www.blackstone-labs.com/
As far as that bad dealership is concerned I’d probably start at the State Attorney General’s Office not to mention General Motors Corporate Office and read your signature! Never Give Up!

go get them...I am sick of hearing about this kind of behavior from dealer service departments!!!
My buddy's brand new BMW 335 came out of service with NO OIL IN IT, on the way home the oil light comes on (duh)!!! Amazing, just amazing!

Solar, we had trouble with an home air conditioning installer/repair service. They installed... screwed it up and wouldn't fix it. My wife called the Better Business Bureau and ratted them out. It took a few months but the BBB went after them and the repair service actually wrote an apology letter, hired an air conditioning expert (not one of thier employees) to come out and fix the unit......and....gave us our money back.
So, I would definately recommend letting your local BBB know, in detail what went on. Other than that and hiring a lawyer, which I don't think you really need - alphadog had some real good advice.
Good luck, Cliff

I think even with testing at a lab your still gonna have a hard time proving they didn't change it. Not to mention that you said the engine wasn't running very well. I would think if this was caused by your oil there is already engine damage done (I doubt this is the case) Not to mention the fact that gm monitors your engine oil life through onstar they will probably tell you that they saw nothing wrong with your oil and any problems that may have been caused by oil would be covered under warranty any way.
If you suspect they don't really change oil then you should put a mark on your oil filter before going in or put a piece of tape over the oil plug then check these out afterwards.

Ok, to answer the questions:
The first oil change that was supposed to be done, was at 3417 miles. I usually don't go over 3000 miles, but I had to wait for the part to come in, before I went down to the Hummer Dealer. Besides I have owned over 50 vehicles and never seen such dirty oil come out of a new engine.......it only had 5200 miles on it today, when it was done. I'll get some pics.....and post them.
Second, I did mark all of my original parts with a paint dot. Nothing was touched or changed out. It's not hard to tell that they didn't change the oil, when the filter was never removed, the plug never taken out, and nothing was touched in the engine bay.
I'll update everyone once the 3 gets the rest of the service done tomorrow. The place that is fixing it couldn't believe what they did to the steering shafts.....it was a big safety concern of theirs...they didn't want me to drive on it....that's how bad it is.
