Accompanying mods for a supercharger?
Hey Fellas,
I have a customer who has an 05 and is looking to have it supercharged. We are thinking of going with the Magnuson M112 kit as that seems to have pretty positive feedback and appears to be a simple install.
While reading through different reviews here and there it seemed like there were a few other modifications which seemed to be recommended while installing the supercharger, an upgraded, external transmission cooler being at the top of most lists. Are there others which really should be done at the same time in order to reduce the risk of failure? This particular H2 is an extended body 6-wheel car, although only powers the front 4-wheels. The reason the our customer wants to upgrade the engine is due to lack of towing power (as you can imagine with a stock engine and lots of additional weight having to pull an extra half car behind it). This additional weight plus a trailer means there will be additional strain on the transmission (I would imagine). This being the case what ought we upgrade in order to counteract this strain?
Thanks for any advice guys.
Isaac

I have the same kit installed for the same reasons, I tow. Had to upgrade the radiator went with a BECOOL that doubled the size of the stock one. Added a Heavy duty torque convertor after the stock one died, and a larger b&m transmission pan. did not need to upgrade the stock trans cooler. Just getting a larger tranny pan seemed to take care of the heat issue I used to get while towing. I think the jba Ceramic Coated Headers also helped with getting the heat out of the engine compartment but can't really prove it. just doesn't get hot anymore when towing in the mountains.
