Default ? about when buying wheels/tires

Does everyone always get 5 tires/wheels when you upgrade to a bigger size? Anyone keep the stock spare and just get a nice cover or is that the cheap way to go? Just curious what some previous guys have done since Im new to the hummer world. Thanks!

You can buy four if you want, but you had better plan on never using your spare. Being full-time 4wd you dont want to mix tire sizes as that one lonely wheel will be running much faster to keep up with the wheel opposite it and the other end of the car. Not a recipe for success or long differential life. (But, in a true emergency I would run a different size tire and say to hell with the damage. I'm not talking about getting a flat on the interstate, but life or death situations and be honest, wouldn't you really feel better knowing you were prepared for an emergency with 5 like sized tires? )

Agree 100% with rsc!

That one time you need the spare you will be kicking yourself for not buying the same size spare. Plus you might not have the $ at that time to replace the damaged/defective tire either!

Not if you swapped the TPMs into the new rims and kept the pressure above 34psi.
