'98 with 67k miles on original enging - #8 issue?
Hi All,
I'm looking at a '98 wagon with 67k miles on the original engine. If cylinder 8 is/was going to crack, would it have done so by this mileage? Will cylinder 8 always fail and it's only a question of time before the engine swap is required or is there a mileage threshold that once passed is considered "safe" or less likely to warrant an engine failure with cylinder 8? Thanks.

I used to think if they were over 40-50 they were ok. I was wrong my brother lost the motor in his 98 a few months ago and I think it was around 80k. If I bought one without a new motor in it I would always think that I needed to make sure I had money put back to put a motor in if it failed. They do not all fail and there are many way over 100k.
