HI, I just rebuilt my 108,000 mile tired engine with a 408 Stroker kit using the
Delco 8.1 Marine injectors and a mild Howards Cam. I have around 450HP and
atleast that much torque and this truck on 40" tires is now a blast to drive...
There are a few tricks to the build but mostly a straight foward assembly.
Anyone considering the same feel free to ask questions. I tune with EFI live

That sounds awesome, although why at only 100k miles?! What year is your H2? Did you do the work yourself?

 

I'm pretty curious about the entire process

 

My H2 is a 2006 and I bought it used with 98,000 so after driving 10K I decided that
this thing is under powered. It only came with 325hp and after 108,000 my compression was down to 117-119 probably only had 290-300 max. Yes I didi the engine build myself.
The only drawback is unless you use an LSX block the .4" longer stroke pulls the piston
skirt farther out of the bottom of the bore and it may not be a 200,000 mile engine
anymore. With machine work I spent about $4000 but it makes all the difference in the
world and idles like a stock engine.
