Agreed, I did the exact same. Bought a set of 4 for $400 and had the best of the 4 chemically stripped and PC'ed. Been good ever since.

Doing good. H2 is coming along. Getting monster stereo in place, wiring up for a custom double light bar setup i am making, and then cleaning up the interior (new leather and headliner and such).... then probably putting in another lift (6inch versus the 3inch i have now) and putting 41s on, stroke the engine out, and rebuild the trans and reset the gearing....
nothing major :-P
but 182k and she is still strong

NoSpoon - good to hear you got lucky too... sounds like everyone is coming up the same... the 400-600 range are out there, but need a little love :-D

I think in the end 1200 is a ridiculous price. Personally I think 400-600 is good for a set that needs some love, and maybe 800 (maybe 900 tops if they are almost like brand new) for a set that is is great condition with all the hardware and no work....

did he have any that needed love?
i bought some that needed love from him and though I agree I paid too much for them, it was a exactly what he described and since others have bought from him and is known....

Given, i also got impatient and decided it is worth the extra money.... why i dont know since i havent fixed them or mounted them yet.... oh well

I’m also looking for a set but only in the 400+ price range.

Side note and I don’t mean to hijack the post. What do you folks think of the amp power steps? I am looking at a used set of these as well. My rock sliders are in need of sandblast and paint/powder. For what it will cost to clean my rock sliders up and buy steps I could have the power step.

I just sold a set of 4 good condition u-steps for $900. I have 4 more now which will need powder coating but no rust, no cracks etc. If anyone is interested I would sell these as is for $750 plus $40 to ship. If I end up powder coating these I will be asking $1100.. if interested you can contact me at 347-452-9938
