the mayor of Nagasaki just got whacked, 2 shots in the back from a handgun. some of the harshest gun laws in the world in Japan. laws do no good if they can't be enforced.

My opinion...

I know that prohibition really worked well for stopping the flow of booze in the country.. and no one ever smokes weed or uses cocaine since they're illegal too. Taking guns away from people would just create a new "illegal Market".
One exists already, and it's big enough to where creating another would be a very bad business decision :P

Hell, this country was built on spent shell casings. Like it or don't like it, guns are as American as apple pie. The problem with people like this shooter are that too many parents care about themselves, and don't give a rats *** about the children they produce. Stick 'em in front of a TV, and leave us a lone... then wonder why they have no social skills, .. and hate everyone .. or can't cope with everyday life.
That gun didn't lead him into killing everyone.. something in his fawked up head did.. probably as a result of never learning how to deal with anything. He could have easly made a bomb from basic stuff down at the grocery store.. then what .. are we going to ban all the little everyday chemicals it took to make it too?
More excuses .. do you think it would've been easier or harder for him to kill if he DIDN'T have it .. common, honestly here doode ...

Too much time wasted going after the WRONG problem if you ask me. Watch a Maury show... how freakin' many times are the shows about people who don't even know who the dads of their kids are.. that's more sick than anything you find in a murder scene to me. We have literaly hundereds of thousands of kids out there that are fawked from the get go.. but when they do something terrible, we'll get in line to blame everything except their screwed up parents who were too busy yelling at each other to even notice they were around. We have people in this country who I wouldn't trust with a task as simple as brushing their teeth, yet they have 10 kids ... with 10 different dads, who they never see, while mom smokes crack.. ... etc etc..
irrelevant, again the guy is S. Korean ... and quite frankly, those shows are insulting to my intelligence

But, let's ban guns so they don't shoot anyone. [&:]I guess if they just break into an old lady's house one night and rape and strangle her, that's acceptable since it's only one old lady.. and no gun was used.
Lets not ban, but let's limit them and spend more than a flippin coffee break worth of time on the background check ..

It would get worse, and it would simply take the guns away from law abiding citizens. Enough said.

The terrorist who killed everyone on 911 did a hell of a lot more damage, and killed thousands, with just some box cutters and some planes. Now what? want to rid the world of planes? Or should we limit travel to white suburban college kids? Should we all go down to the town square and burn our box cutters? Yes, he could have walked into a room, and detontated a makeshift bomb that could have killed or severly injured everyone in it.. maybe a few less dead, but that only matters if it's not one of your family members. But for those who are dead, I can assure you, it matters to them. Again, you'reway offbase trying to blame something else for this persons actions. Like blaming a pencil for incorrect spelling. Maybe the next guy works in a plant where the most toxic substance known to man is.. it's readly available.. now what?

[b]Oh, Koreans are not capable of raising screwed up kids? Why not? OnlyAmerican kids have parents who neglect them? So, what was his motive then, .. to make a statement to ban guns? I know, I'll go kill a bunch of people, and someone will want to ban guns. He's fawkin' nuts, .. that's his motive, it doesn't really matter how he did it, he's the problem. And besides that, he's lived here a while, and graduated from HS here.. so his parents are just as likely to be more concerned with what type of lavish things they have for their house, instead of paying attention to the needs of their kid. he could have went around setting people on fire with afreakin' blow torch.. it's not the torch in question, it's the idiot behind it that

The gunman, who turned his gun on himself after carrying out the worst shooting massacre in U.S. history, was a sullen loner who left a rambling note raging against women and rich kids. News reports said that Cho, a 23-year-old senior majoring in English, may have been taking medication for depression and that he was becoming increasingly violent and erratic.
Hmm.... gotta bea clue. Do Koreans even get depressed?

Professors and classmates were alarmed by his class writings — pages filled with twisted, violence-drenched writing.
More clues.. something can't be right.

In screenplays he wrote for a class last fall, characters throw hammers and attack with chainsaws, said a student who attended Virginia Tech last fall. In another, Cho concocted a tale of students who fantasize about stalking and killing a teacher who sexually molested them.
Hmm... maybe he was molested, and not ignored by his parents. Nah, ... Korean kids don't get molested. And even if they do, it's ok... they don't get all bent out of shape about it. After all, it's not like they're going to go around killing as a result of it all.

"When we read Cho's plays, it was like something out of a nightmare," former classmate Ian MacFarlane,
"The plays had really twisted, macabre violence that used weapons I wouldn't have even thought of."
Yep, I'm sure it's a clue... but let's blame the availablity of guns anyway, just forchits and giggles. If we manage to get rid of guns, then we'll never have to worry about some twisted cookie hurting any of our loved ones again.

Wrong..
