Default 3.5L Engine

FYI I recieved a notice from GM that my 2004 Colorado might have problems with premature wearing of the intake valve seats. Since it has the same 3.5L engine that my 06 H3 has, I thought you guys and gals might be interested in the notice. It says if the problem develops, GM will repair it at no charge for 7 years from the date of purchase or 100,000 miles. Also, if you have already paid for these repairs, GM will reimbuse you for parts, labor, fees and taxes. I haven't had any problems so far,30,000 miles on the Colorado

Head and valve problems even occur with the new 3.7. Usually happens in the first 5,000 miles. I'm not impressed with GM's I-5.

look above in the sticky posts...there are a whole lot of head valve issues.....doesn't really mean the motor is bad, just that the company that they sourced the heads out to made a bad batch...there is a vin # range that if yours falls within you could be affected.
