2009 Hummer H3 Service Stab Sys, Traction Failed, Reduced Power
Hello everyone. so my hummer gets this message and even if I floor it it wont go above 25 mph and its rough getting there also it jerks like its about to stall. It is well above my experience mechanically so I thought lets take it to the dealer.
AutoNation Chevy has now had the car for about 30 days.
They changed the wire harnesses.
They changed the ECM
They changed the Crankshaft Sensor
The Throttle Body
the Throttle Body Sensor.
the care is still doing it and they can't seem to figure it out any suggestions and or help?

Welcome to HF. First suggestion is that when you have an H3 question, that you post it in the H3 section. The Forums Help & Suggestion section has NOTHING to do with vehicles, and only about how to use forum features, like: "How do I post a pic?"
The TB sensor is built into the Throttle Body, only way to swap it is by swapping the TB. Sounds to me like a bad Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor.
Here is a cut and paste from an old thread of mine:
Here is what you need to know regarding reduced power mode, from exactly what I posted over at CHO, sarcasm included:
"When the Throttle Position Sensor (TB) is not reading the same relative position as Accelerator Pedal Travel Sensor, the computer defaults to reduced power mode because it is not sure how much power the driver is actually calling for.
Solutions: have Scotty find some more dilithium crystals, ...... or, .... replace one of those two sensors to see which is messed up".
That CHO member already had the Throttle Position Sensor at (TB) replaced, my suggestion was correct. There are other scenarios where reduced power mode occurs, but this is the most common with 3s.
First I would look at the Throttle Position Sensor, that is the usual culprit. Many have went bad. If that does not fix the problem, then do the accelerator pedal assembly, which includes the built in Accelerator Pedal Travel Sensor.
Here is you Accelerator Pedal Assembly to try second. http://www.ebay.com/itm/ACDelco-GM-O...3D262784696452
Your StabiliTrack TC Failure can be part of the same problem, but it usually is its own separate issue."

Doc has some good advice and suggestions. I will also suggest a complete scan of all the computers and modules to see what, if any, codes appear. I would also check the inputs of some sensors which is easy to do with a quality scan tool. The accelerator position sensors is a good place to start. For whatever reason your Hummer seems to have gone to limp mode.
The exact same thing you describe was happening to my 2009 H3 Truck. I received in the mail that this was a recall item. I brought the vehicle to the dealer and they did something to fix it. It only took them like a half hour to fix. I think they just did something to the code.
This happened on my 2008 H3 when i filled my tank at this very cheap gas station.. the gas had a lot of ethanol or i don't know, but after driving about 60 miles my AC wasn't blowing cold air as usual and the AC was getting worst when Idle, like at the traffic lights.on the next day about 90 miles to the tank, the car started shacking and doing all the symptoms other people are complaining about... Bought some gas cleaner put some Vpower gas and the issue was gone.
