I think it's cool. It would be a toss up for me between the Camaro and the Dodge Challenger.

 

so long as dodge doesnt foolishly price the challenger like the viper, I will have one...

Ah the Viper. That is still my dream car. Before I got married, I was literally months away from having my 92 Viper RT10, then, well, you know the rest []

what i used to do? i used to be an accountant for dodge...in 2003 i had a chance to buy a 94 viper, in red, with 50,000ish miles on it. i would have had to trade in my DD at that time, and the car would have cost about the same per month as my DD...the killer was the insurance...which would have been as much per month as the payment...

another concern, i found that the viper wouldnt clear the lip into my driveway....i wont lie, i think about that viper at least once a week...

now, i write reviews and articles about automobiles, new and old..i wrote all of the hummer items on here...im currently working on a comprehensive review of the history of the nissan skyline

 

I love the Skyline. I wish Nissan would stop making false promises and dragging their butts and get the thing out already.

There are two guys in my area that have the '07 WRX STi already, and man did they improve the front end. It looks really sharp now. It's going to be tough for Nissan to make the Skyline competitive pricewise I think, but I haven't seen what the price will be yet. Have they dumbed down the emission system really bad for the U.S. or did they keep it somewhat good?

 

well, i dont know how "into imports" you are, but the car that is currently the skyline in japan IS here...but we call it the infinity G35. in japan it is called the nissan skyline V35...did you know that nissan motors doesnt actually make the skyline?

the skyline, badged as a skyline, that is supposed to hit IS showrooms is a debate item in the import world. nissan has said that it will be here in 08 or 09, but it is my understand that it will not be like the early 2000s R34 with the TT V6, but it will possibly be a V8 car. it will be very expensive, probably more than any car infinity or nissan has ever sold here, and it may be badged as the infinity skyline, because nissan isnt sure that they want to have a $70,000 car in the nissan lineup. mind you, this is all rumor, as we wont know until it actually gets here...but when it does, it should be a fairly wicked car, but it will probably be priced similarly to a corvette, if not more.

and oddly, i FAR prefer the previous STi...

 

I didn't know that. So the G35 Sedan is the Skyline and the G35 Coupe is the 350Z? That's what I meant about false promises. Originally Nissan said they would bring the Skyline out as a 2007 model at the end of 2006. I probably still have the magazine that had that in there. That was supposedly quoted from Nissan themselves. They wanted an AWD platform to compete with the WRX but I never understood how they could possibly get a Skyline down to $30k. I kinda figured that wasn't going to happen. If they bring it out as an Infiniti, I bet alot of the die-hard import tuners aren't going to be interested. The crowd that the Skyline used to be in with were the custom modders. They aren't going to want to spend $70k for a car before they even put a penny into modding it. That's just my opinion. The STi is still the best bang for the buck I think.

Now, I wouldn't mind a Lotus Elise I wonder if they make Miata body kit with the Elise

I'm looking at either getting a Miata, Z3, or SLK (used of course) and depending on how money is in the spring, going for what I always wanted, which was getting my SCCA license. I know it probabl wont happen but I might just do the amatuer stuff. It would be nice. It's either that or the whole RV thing That's another thread though
