I think I have to put a new heater core in my hummer..


Well I am sure this is going to take all day, but I am hoping some of you may have the service manual or specs on this job? I imagine 5-6 hours, and the procedure is what exactly?? Hoping you guys can fill in the missing information I am looking for.


Has anyone done this? I just got my recall notice for the heater blower issue. So I will take it into the dealer soon, and I don't feel like handing over 1500 bux for them to do this, or is it something I should take care of at the same time, or do it myself?? Its why Im looking for the procedure guide to decide if I just fork over the cash, or plan for a weekend to do this myself.

Why are you replacing the heater core? No heat or leaking? No heat could be solved be flushing the heater core. Leaking results in a heater core replacement. Good luck!

 

thanks for help, sorry for late reply been out of country for work.. But i changed the heater core I decided to have a shop do it.. cost me 650 bux to have done. now I have a darn radiator leak haha... UPGRADE TIME!!!

 

oh and i bought a ac delco core myself and that alone was 80 bux so 650+80 total for my heater core replacement. I think I did well on the price honestly..
