Hi guys, new to the hummer forums, i am looking at a 2008 21,000mile H3 3.7. I was wondering how this vehicle is and is it possible to add a chip to the 3.7? Thanks in advance and Merry Christmas to all!!

 

Also besides the radiator problems they have, should i worry about the cast aluminum front differential or was that an issue on earlier models? any help would be great, i'm going in the morning to see about purchasing this Hummer.

 

That is quite a broad question. By chip, I assume you mean a performance chip. If so the answer is no, there are no worthwhile performance chips available for the I5. You can get some improvements by a PCM reprogram as many forum members have done via PCMforLess. The aluminum front diff is generally reported not to be a real problem unless you plan to do some hardcore rock crawling - in which case a 2009-10 Adventure or an Alpha might well be worth considering.

 

bflank thank you for the info.... i don't plan on heavy off -roading just some thick snow a couple times a year in northern Michigan when i go to visit family.
