When applying the brakes I hear a noise. The noise is normal except that it gets a high pitch brake noise, like a loose brake pad is squealing. I know a few other folks have this noise as well in their 08 H2's.
When it is extremely cold out it will not make the noise, for a couple of hours, until the engine compartment heats up. This noise happens on every other push of the brake pedal. It happens in slow city traffic with a lot of stop and goes. If you brake from a high rate of speed there is no noise at all. At night, you will notice your lights dim, when you hear this squeal.
So my question is: Has anyone else noticed this on their 08 or 09 H2?????

 

On my 06 H2 i have that squeal when the brake pedal returns in position. On the other end when the car is not running and i press the pedal slightly hard i hear a noise as a pump working like a frrrrrrrrr. Anyone else has my problem?

I also have an 08- my Hummer service advisor says the brake noise is common- they (the brake pads) will last a long time...but they squeek.
"nature of the beast" he says.

 

It will go away with time. Its just one of those things!
