Just had mine done last week 46,000 miles its an 07 also. Dealer took a quick look under the hood and said they have seen plenty of them, mine was fixed under warrentee.
I saw radiators on e bay from $75.00 on up for the H3

And the part that REALLY pisses you off is that it's not an 'improved' design that will eliminate the problem in the future.......it's only going to start the clock over again!

Default radiator

hi, new member here. Just got my 08 - 3.7 back from the gm dealer for the radiator issue. I had read the earlier threads about the problems so after I purchased my 08 I knew what to look for. I hadn't seen it mentioned but I noticed that when the engine is hot { operating temperature } there is a big difference in the distance from the tank to the support than a cold radiator. I would assume then that the problem is more likely caused by expansion of the tank forcing it closer to the support than the motion of the support itself. Anyway the dealer "readjusted" the top mount as it was "mis-adjusted" as per gm. My radiator didn't have any issues yet other than the real slight abrasion on the tank where it would touch the support. The service manager said since I brought the issue up before my bumper to bumper expired if anything happens after they would still cover me.

id go right ahead and get that written on a piece of dealer paper, with a witness!

a previous thread on rads showed pics of how to trim that support so the rad floats free without adjusting the bracket and stressing the plastic, fwiw

I'm not really worried about the warranty. This is the fifth vehicle I've purchased from them and they have always stood behind any issues after the warranty has expired as long as i expressed my concerns before it expired and as long as the problem was caused by the issues I brought up.

I will probably trim the support a little as you did just to have a little more peace of mind. I don't know as there is any more stress on the radiator because on the right side of the bracket [ as you are looking at it from the front ] the slot that the tab sets in has about a 1/4 inch opening front to back. The tab is about 1/8 in wide which gives you another 1/8 in adjustment. Right or wrong I was told it was done that way to allow for adjustment. It kind of makes sense otherwise why not make that hole just big enough for the tab where it couldn't move?

i dont remember mine having any movement, but not wanting to "push" the plastic or my luck i cut the strip away so it floats. as i think it over i almost dont want that support at all. plastic clearly dont make sense here.

Till today I have no issue but it's clear for me that when it hits me I will modify and solve the issue GM is not able to.
I'm not sure if you could repair the existing one with a tailor made aluminum part or just swap it. I'm sure a aluminum radiator will not cost more than the dealer ask for the original one.
And in the same time get the oil cooler of the transmission separated.
