Default 2007 H3 Luxury edition - high speed manners/handling

I've owned my 2007 H3 Luxury edition since 2008. Love the vehicle, but have never been comfortable on the interstate at speed. Just made my second 800 mile journey in two weeks and it reminded me that I would like to find a solution.

I would describe the issue as being sloppy when going above 55 mph. Roll, sway, etc. When traveling through a slight bend in the interstate, I don't dare make a steering input correction or the H3 seems to want to sway. Sometimes terrifyingly so.

I always chalked it up to the high center of gravity and even contemplated lowering the vehicle. I never offroad. Everything is bone stock. Even replaced tires with original Goodyear wranglers.

I don't think this is due to any worn parts. The vehicle has done this during the entire ownership. I bought it one year old off lease with 30K.

I saw earlier threads mentioning a T-Bar adjustment. I assume this is the torsion bar? What is the adjustment? How do I know which way to go with it? All input is appreciated!!

Replace those worn out shocks.

I have a 2007 Luxury and had a similar feeling when we purchased it new, I have never been off road and don't intend to, I fitted 22 inch rims with low profile tyres and lowered the suspension 3 inches with shorter shocks. My H3 now handles like a dream at any speed and still rides ok over bumps in the road, i did however shorten the front and rear bump stops as it bottomed out on some of our ****ty Australian country roads.

Sounds like something is wrong. Worn out or blown shocks, missing sway bar, terrible or under inflated tires, something. I know it was only a year old when you bought it, but who knows what the previous owner did. A bone stock '07 H3 should not feel sloppy at all. In fact, when I traded my lifted Cherokee in on my '07 H3 I was quite surprised how solid it felt at highway speeds and in the corners. It's no sports car, but seat of the pants handling was better than any SUV or Jeep I've ever owned.

I have owned 3 H3's and never experience this. The factory settings of the torsion bar will give you the best ride and handling. I would guess shocks or grossly overinflated tires. They should be 32psi. Good Luck

You meant--> underinflated; lower inflation pressure will allow the tire to deflect (bend) more as it rolls, which would cause a significant loss of steering precision and cornering stability. Low pressure also increases rolling resistance, which would reduce fuel economy.

Default I'll check T-bar

Tires are always properly inflated at 31-32. Checked them before this last trip. I don't think the vehicle was abused before I got it. It was a corporate lease and spotless.

That means nothing though. I would check the shocks and make sure your sway bars are attached. Some people will disconnect them to do some rock crawling. You wouldn't believe what we do to our corporate lease suv's.
