Default 2007 H3 Fuel Pump Leaking 85000 km

Has anyone had a similiar issue to this:

1) Transfer case was leaking transfer case fluid.
2) Went to dealership and they replaced a seal and transfer case now fixed.
3) Next day transfer case is leaking again. But this time its not transfer case fluid. Its gas but its coming from above transfer case or around same area because its dripping through transfer case skid plate.
4) Dealership says that now I need a new fuel pump because all the seals are corroded and gas is dripping from fuel pump joints possibly the fuel line is corroded.

Does anyone know how long the fuel pump should last? (I am in a northern climate so could get more rapid corrosion from salt.)

Could the fuel line have been banged some how when they were fixing the transfer case that caused a seal at the fuel pump to leak?

I don't know how long fuel pumps should last but two months ago I had a cracked gas tank replaced on my 06 H3 I also had to replace the fuel pump because of corrosion. The vehicle was in New York State where we use tons of salt on the roads. I washed the H3 under carriage every week in the winter and it did some good because there is very little visible rust, but because of the location of the fuel pump (inserted in the top of the fuel tank in the rear) it was not rinsed off. It was not leaking but was in such bad shape it could not be removed from the tank without tearing it apart. I did see it and it was in bad shape.
Corroded fuel lines are weak. The movement when repairing your transfer case may have caused a leak. Or they could be brutes and damaged the lines. Have the mechanics show you and a knowledgeable pal the problem areas.
The fuel pump is in the rear with the lines going to the engine,

Fuel pumps last until they puke. GM banks on them lasting about 5 years or 100K miles, whichever happens first.

They probably noticed it while it was on the hoist and by smell, whereas you do not spend any time under your truck sniffing around.

Default fuel pump lasted almost 10 years on my 2007

I've had a fuel smell for a couple months. 2 days ago it started leaving spots on the ground. I decided to drop the tank and found the module severely corroded and rotted through at the fuel supply fitting on the module.

I purchased a new acdelco fuel pump module mu1473 from rockauto for $290.84 shipped
A new fuel feeder line #25896785 for $70.16 from ganley chevrolet
and new fuel pump module lock ring Spectra #LO164 for $10.79 from autozone

Here's what the old module looks like:

Replaced my 2006 fuel pump last year due to heavy corrosion. Follow Hummerz advice and replace the parts listed.
