I would like to modify the roof of my 06 H2 SUT by:

1. Removing the sunroof .

2. Remove the remaining metal roof starting just beyond the door pillar line, creating what will look like a roll bar effect, up to where the black plastic begins that houses the retractable rear window, 2 small stationary windows, and structural integrity for the rear passenger doors .
3. Install a new headliner . 4. Install a canvas sliding roof similar to those found on a older VW bus or today's small Fiats . There are two companies in Minneapolis that will make canvas sunroofs to your specifications .

Does anyone have any suggestions, or info regarding this project based upon personal experience, or that of Forum members ? Any hidden pitfalls ? Any ballpark figure what a project like this may cost ?
