2006 h2 navigation

anybody out there figure out a way to listen to your cd and use your navigation at the same time besides changing the head unit. just picked up my 06 last night and i hate the fact that you have to keep putting in your nav cd everytime you need to use it. this is my second h2 but my first did not have the nav. i have a few ideas but i like to throw this out there, see anybody else have an easy way out.
thanks

by the way i been checking this site out for a few days and can honestly say it is one of the best forums out there with great people, im new here and looking forward to sharing a lot of good ideas.

i also don't like that feature, and for the most part i don't think that the NAV system is very good anyway, so i've been considering a hard-drive based aftermarket system (like the Eclipse) or maybe a hand-held system.

I guess i don't know an answer to your question, and i'm just adding that i don't know if the quality of the factory NAV system is worth trying to get anyway. At elast in my location, its fairly horrid.

The nav system works great in the Tampa Bay area of Florida. I wish someone that knows of a good solution to the posted problem would help.

it might be easiest to go the other way, and have an outboard CD player & leave the NAV disc in when using it? the factory deck must have some type of input capability, as i have a backup camera that feeds into it... ?

Boy, i don't know. If you have specific questions i'll just call the shop that did it and report, let me know.

The H3 has the ability to play cd's and use the nav at the same time. I want to hook up a rearview camera, but have no idea how to tie it into the nav. system. Upon that same theory you could run a DVD player through it as well.

well, technically its illegal to run a DVD player through the front nav screen unless its wired so that it only shows the flic when in park.

so i can't comment on that, i guess. ;)

i'll ask the shop that put my camera in what type of camera mine is and how they did it. whatever it is, it was reasonably priced (<1000 installed), only took a couple hours to install, and the picture is awesome when the lense isn't covered in goop.

You know anything about tires?

I know all about the "no movie screen visible by the driver" law. haha I have an in-dash w/nav in my truck;) I know tons of stuff about tires, lifts, lowering kits, wheels, gears, etc., etc.. As far as the camera install I will do that myself once i figure out what goes where. I tend to be pretty proficient with electrical and mechanical installs.

After you do it can you post the details for the rest of us?
