Exclamation 2005 Hummer H2 Service Lights Multiple Issue

2005 Hummer H2
  • 102,000 miles
  • 5 Year 2nd owner of vehicle

Recent History (last 2 weeks):
Took to a mechanic to have knock sensors replaced after ODB-II code indicated one was bad. Both sensors and harness replaced. Electrical drain discovered where an IPOD integration component was directly wired into main panel lighter power sources. Was an after-market add-on installed by dealer for the original owner. This was removed, and mechanic stated that no additional power draw when vehicle was not running was detected. Sounded like problem was fixed. After driving for about 3 days with no issues the below symptoms began to occur again.

Current Issue:
Receiving a Service 4WD message on DIC after vehicles starts up and runs for a bit. In addition losing all power to doors, windows, door locks, and keyless entry/alarm. The AC, and Radio, ABS, System lock lights light up on dashboard. Gauges intermittently quick reporting as well and all fall to the left.

No ODB-II codes are reported when this occurs.

Any ideas?

Attached what is seen on the instrument panel in case it looks familiar to anyone.

Appreciate any inputs if anyone else has experienced this before.

Thanks in advance!

Unhappy

2015-11-29 Update

  • Checked all fuses under hood with voltmeter measure millivolts with key off and out of ignition. Looks like the only thing drawing power in this state is the Radio (4 millivolts) and Radio AMP (2 millivolts). This seemed normal since the millivolts are so low, and the radio does have a clock in it. However, not sure why they Radio AMP would be drawing power with key off and not in ignition.
  • Did try to identify the short using the tester light in between positive battery terminal and cable with negative cable disconnected, but this was inconclusive, and may have reset what ever it shorting out.
  • Currently looks like the short has disappeared. Tried putting inverter load on both lighter and 5 other auxiliary power plug-ins with no success yet.
  • Waiting for it to occur again. Will test other auxiliary power devices like usb chargers to see if this forces it to occur again.

MOVED from the new member area to where Tech questions are supposed to go, in the forum for the model in question. Welcome and good luck.
