Hi! Anyone know anything about the 2004 model year that has the experimental cat ECM? Is cat code for a Caterpillar manufactured ECM or does it stand for something else? Anyone know where to find one as mine might be blown and not having any luck looking at the usual parts dealers.

Cat quit supporting this platform long ago. It was somewhat problematic from the start. It is a Caterpillar system. Check with Mike Sabbarese at Tustin GMC in Tustin, CA. He is one of the original 3 AMG mechanics and has worked on a lot of the 2004 H1s.

 

Thanks for the steer! I will def reach out to Mike. I just want to know if I can purchase a normal not CAT ECM and run it after programming or if it specifically has to be a CAT model.
