Default 2003 H2 Won't Start??

New battery and charged! Go to turn the key, nothing. All lights on dash go off till you release the ignition. It doesn't sound like the solenoid is even engaging. I hate to ask an electrical question, but is there any known problem with the H2 not starting? Wiring harness, ignition solenoid? Any help would be great.
Thank you

first thing id try is trying again with it hooked up to jumper cables.

new batteries can have faults too. i know it seems silly, but you have to cut down the possibilities.

Trying another battery doesn't sound silly to me, it sounds like that is the problem, or at least the connections. You may have a faulty wire from the battery or a corroded connection.

Additional information:
Yesterday I went to lunch, started up there and back to work. I get ready to go home 5 hours later, no start! Keep working till 8pm, come out car starts. Take it to Autozone to run a test on the starter and they can't find anything. The battery is about 6 months old, cables are in good shape.

Do you think the starter has a flat spot? That when it gets hot or lands on that dead spot it won't start. I just don't want to replace the started only to find it's something else, I hate electrical crap.

You can peek through the passenger wheel well and see the starter solenoid. Look at the cables and posts to see if they are rusty or coroded. Mine were on my 03. I took them off and wire brushed them to solve a similar problem.

Default Hummer won't start

Almost 90% of battery type problems that I have encountered comes from a loose negative cable at the battery post. If you can turn it at all by hand, that may just well be the problem.

I'm having this prob now, buy a new batt, one year later,,,dead. From what I have read, the amp on the stereo could be pulling it down? Your prob sounds as if it's one of the answers above, also my cable from the batt to the starter was loose once and caused mine not to start. Ofcourse I had replaced the ignition switch first before I checked this,,,,duh

The weird thing is now, knock on wood, I haven't had the issue since I wrote this thread. The only thing I'm thinking is the starter is getting a flat spot on it and that is why the last time it wouldn't start. All of the connection is tight and battery is good (according to Autozone). Do you think it's my starter?

Default starter?

if the starter is bad the solenoid will still ciick.
if the batt is down you must look at it with a meter , digital is best, and cheap.
volts read typ 14v, drop to 11-12 cranking.
if volts drop from 14 to 0-1 then bad connection, somewhere.

if volts dont drop there is no load, sol etc. try lights, the volts drop 14-13 with headlights, appx. that means batt is ok.

when running turn on lights, meter should drop a little AND must come back up to 14-15. my h3 hits 15.3 till charged a few min.

put the meter from gnd to the NEG POST, not the wire but the post.

if volts jump up when crank or lights on, the neg conn is dirty.

you GOTTA have a meter!!!

when all else fails run jumper to,,,starter direct!!

somewhere something has to show up!

I'm new to this web site so bear with me. I have an 03 - H2 and the front windshield fluid pump will not stop running. I replaced the control arm and switch the fuse with another one and it still keeps running. Also with my luck the starter won't turn over, but the soienoid does chick. How hard is it ti change the starter.
