Default 2 questions for knowledgeable H3 owners . . .

So I'm a new H3 owner. Forgive my ignorance. The 2 square things, one on each side of the hood, nearest the windshield. What are those? And how can I fix one if it has become loose? One is solid as can be. The other can be moved around a little. Not as snug as the other. Hence, the loud vibrating noise at highway speeds. Any fix for this?

Also, does adding on larger rims/wheels have any affect on my GM warranty? i.e. - suspension? Experiencing some bouncing around and minor noises coming from the rear suspension. Not the wheels. Had them checked for over/under inflation. They're spot on.

I want to take it into a GM service center. Just didn't want to roll up with the off-road rims/wheels only to have them tell me I have now voided my warranty. Something that Honda (I was 16 so no harsh remarks!) did to me when I replaced the factory rims/wheels with a larger size.

Appreciate any/all assistance.

The "square" covers are nonfunctioning air vents. Kind of replicas of the functional originals on the H1. They just snap in, but the tabs can be broken if you are not careful removing them. If one of yours is loose, it may have a broken tab. Might have the dealer or a body shop take a quick look at that.

Tires and wheels cannot void a warranty. The dealership employees cannot void a warranty, only a GM employee (like an area service representative) can do that. If you change wheels, the only thing they may not cover is issues that may arise with your Tire Pressure Monitor System because a tire shop may break/crack a sensor, and certain wheels can hinder the signal being sent to the vehicle and cause false alarms which they might not correct for free.

Enjoy the new ride and the forums. Welcome.

Default Thanks Doc!

Appreciate the kind response. Figured I'd take heat for calling air vents "square things". Just didn't know. Must be a broken tab. Thing moves all around once speed picks up. Drives me nuts. Almost louder than the Monsoon speakers. Almost!

Glad to hear about the rims/wheels not voiding warranty. I'm taking it in to the GM service department. Can't tell if the air vent noise or the rear suspension clinking is worse. Regardless, under warranty so in it goes. We'll see how inept the local service guys are.

a quick fix can be 3M double sided tape. I went to the drive thru carwash and the drying vent damn near blew my plastic hood vent off. bricks were shat. I double side tape that thing and it hasnt gave me a problem yet and that was 6 months ago.

with your chrome hood louver there were some problems with the 06 and 07 models breaking off at the top but apparently they have made the tab stronger

i had three replaced under warrenty before they told me that there was a redesign

and with the other two questionswhat old docs said

as far as the warrenty goes i had the rancho lift kit a still managed to get it on drive shafts it depends on your dealer
